Schlosshotel Lerbach dazzles after a multi-million euro makeover
Comprehensive renovation work is completed
After just a year, the comprehensive renovation of the Relais & Chateaux Schlosshotel Lerbach, Bergisch Gladbach, was completed in September. The choice of services and facilities for guests has been expanded through additional attractive concepts.

52 rooms impress with a new look
All of the 52 rooms as well as the suites of the hotel have been extensively renovated in an exclusive English country-house style. Particular attention was given to the renovation of the luxurious bathrooms, which now all feature granite floors and marble walls. Natural daylight and an undisturbed view of nature give the bathrooms an extra special touch.
Exclusive SPA suites and a new wellness area
The highlights of this major renovation are the two new SPA suites, which have direct access to the pool and sauna area. These spa suites – designed according to a concept by Elke Diefenbach-Althoff – are extremely close to the Schlosshotel’s Beauty Spa and enable chosen treatments to be carried out in the suites’ private bath and room area. The two spa suites feature a private whirlpool, fitness equipment and exclusive wooden floors.
The pool and next-door sauna area feature light, Mediterranean colours. The new tepidarium with a view of the garden lures guests to indulge in pure relaxation.
Cooking school & brasserie extend the hotel’s attractions
Within its first six months the new restaurant “Coq au Vin” has already established itself as the region’s new local attraction with its fresh authentic brasserie menu.
Within almost the same period the new “Cooking School Schlosshotel Lerbach”, under the patronage of Dieter Müller, has established itself with great success. The cooking school, designed in cooperation with the premium partners Gaggenau and Poggenpohl, is the only school run by a three-star chef to offer a permanent programme of courses.
Success through variety
“With the new wellness and gourmet concepts and all they have to offer, we are meeting the demands of our guests more than ever,” says hotelier Thomas H. Althoff.
The investment of several million euros is already paying off: the hotel, whose highlights include the gourmet restaurant Dieter Müller, the Beauty Spa and the 25,000 m2 private park, has occupancy rates consistently above the luxury hotel segment average – and rising.
